Today I am 22.

And already it's the worst birthday of my life.

Bleh. I've got way too much on my mind.

Need to find a way to sort it all out.

So I've been stressed as hell for the last three months or so.

I feel like I'm reverting back to the way I used to be. Clingy, needy, overly pensive without much real substance.

I didn't like being that way, and I don't want to go back to being that way.

I just wanted to state that for the record I suppose.

I posted a review of an FMA episode on my friend's blog!

It's funny what a non-entity Ed is in so many FMA episodes.

...Izumi is cooler anyway.

And now for something completely different! (Mostly because I just need to talk about something innocuous after the last couple days.)

I think "Bones" is my favourite Star Trek character of all time.

I've long suspected it, but after noticing that in Star Trek VI he says he wishes Christopher Plummer would stop reciting Shakespeare quotes. It hit me.

The dude is wishing that one of the best (Shakespearian!) actors of the 20th century... would stop reciting... Shakespeare.

I mean seriously. That takes 'curmudgeon' to a whole new level.

Plus there was that whole bad-ass bit where he went off on a long tangent about how evil the Genesis project was in wrath of Khan. Something to the effect of "God made the world in seven days... watch out! We're gonna do it in seven minutes!" or something amazing like that.

Gonna post my StarCraft 2 campaign thoughts here. All journal style.

And yes, this time I will actually do that. I'll get a pen and paper and everything. Gonna start by playing the last campaign of Brood War today.

...and I still would rather be playing Cataclysm. Why the hell is that? =|

So recently me and my friend have been watching Black Lagoon. When we both have free-time we will watch a television series through. (First Reboot, then Code Geass, then Gargoyles, then Visionaries and now... Black Lagoon.) Black Lagoon's pretty neat, I like something about pretty much all of the characters, I like that despite the occasional didactic speech from some of the characters, the show is pretty amoral. The morals are pretty much just kept to the characters and their thoughts and feelings. It's rare that anyone's proven right, or that they all agree with some conclusion.

Weirdly in contrast to Code Geass, where I thought it had a strong cast of male characters and a pretty good cast of women (Cornelia being a highlight IMO), this show has a very strong cast of female characters and a pretty good cast of men. (There actually aren't many male characters really) Balalaika is freaking awesome, as are Yolanda, Eta, and a few others.

I think my favourite arc thus far has been the one with the weird twins. I found them strangely... enticing. Disturbing, disgusting and bizarre, but... I dunno. I'm not usually one to go for characters like that. Invulnerable sociopathic killing machines. I just find it so improbable that they'd be able to live for as long as they do. I guess they were just well-written, and they were never TOO invulnerable. (Only able to take out one of Balalaika's soldiers by catching him off guard.) Still dunno how two ten-twelve year olds would have a chance in hell of taking on Balalaika's troops. Seeing as how they are a former soviet military unit. (Guess they didn't really...)

Other than that the show is REALLY well directed. I get a Steven Chow vibe. I think they're both based on the same source material. (John Woo movies?) The gore is fairly realistic and not too over the top, the fighting is dynamic, and there's this certain sort of tongue-in-cheek feel to the show that I really appreciate. The characters are well-written and likable and the atmosphere is positively amazing.

Okay. Hey guys. I don't know if any of you care. But as I play through Mass Effect 2 I am intending on doing journals every time I finish a planet or major plot-thread.

If you guys are interested in reading those as I play through the game... watch this space. =)

From bayfield .

Leave me a comment. I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better. Update your journal with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

1. If you were to make one show/movie mandatory watching for all on Earth, what would it be?

Oh, that's a good question. I think I'd probably make Mask of the Phantasm or the Manchurian Candidate or something. Just because those are some of my favourite movies. Though really, I'd probably want to pick something a bit more important from a human standpoint, or just really, really good.

2. What is your most favorite scene of Heroes to date?

Linderman's visit to Nathan's house at the beginning of "Landslide", where he heals Heidi. I absolutely love that scene. Just because it sets up Linderman as a man who can do anything. It sets up Heidi as an AWESOME wife. And it goes so far to show how even Nathan is still really in the dark.

3. What is the most inventive meal you can cook?

I'm not a very creative cook unfortunately. I can make Beef Stew... I guess those Thai Burgers I can make. I have a cool recipe I want to invent, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

4. Your profile mentions you over-analyze everything, specifically in Sonic. So what's your most outlandish theory?

I don't really have too many outlandish theories. I mostly just have lots of really specific ideas about what I watch. Like the fact that Shadow is something of a Magnificent Bastard, but somehow everyone thinks he behaves like such an 'emo'. Right now I have a pretty outlandish theory about how the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins will play out. But other than that, not much. I had a bunch of cool theories about Samuel from Heroes, but they've proven them all wrong now with the last few episodes.

5. So- My fandom of the moment (not that I'd actually converse with the fandom) is Haruhi Suzumiya. Firstly, what's your opinion on Haru-Nyan, and the main question, what's your fanbase of the moment?

I don't know what that is unfortunately... my current fandom of the moment is Dragon age: Origins I think. Or maybe WarCraft.I'm probably gonna get pretty into Mass Effect soon as well.

WarCraft Orcs & Humans

A script I've been working on. Basically the whole idea is that it's a WarCraft TV show. I start by recapping the main events of the first War. (WarCraft 1) So no prior knowledge of the series is necessary, as this is... well... the beginning. If you want to check it out, then please do! I'd love any feedback that any of you could give me! In fact I'd REALLY appreciate it.

So without further ado.
